Our in-house Architectural expert who always seems to find the rarest homes and buildings just found this home in Dupont Circle. Proof that although DC is still very much lacking in Architecturally worthy homes, there are still some that have spectacular rooms.

For $17,500,000 it better be spectacular.

HomesDatabase description: Total renovation of town home perfect for embassy, cultural institution, foundation or private residence. Large scale formal rooms include double parlors with fireplaces and baronial dining room with fireplace. Separate family living quarters and family gourmet kitchen on 2nd level. Catering Kitchen, custom wine cellar. Elevator. Parking for 6-10 cars. 10 fireplaces.

What he likes about it: The drama (which he says is very hard to find inside DC homes), the woodwork. He tells me he doesn't like the whole house or the location, and that only the dining room and the doorways are noteworthy and that the ceilings should be higher (he's very picky).
