Inside with Marc

W Magazine has a great story of Marc Jacobs' art collection housed in his gorgeous three-story garden apartment on the Champ de Mars—previously owned by designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. Marc says he fell in love with the home during a tour, the moment he sat by the guest room window and watched kids playing on the lawns beneath the Eiffel Tower.

As we all know, he moved to Paris after his appointment as creative director of Louis Vuitton and says that his new-found love for art has definitely influenced his designs - specifically through his recruitment of artist Richard Prince to create a series of Vuitton handbags and by modeling the opening part of the Spring 2008 runway show after the artist's "Nurse" paintings (a Prince painting hangs above his bed and 5 more around the apartment). Marc also speaks about his jewelry collection for LV which I can only assume will be at least partly inspired by the works of art he lives with.
