Art Deco Crown Ring Giveaway

The lovely Sarah from LuShae Jewelry let me choose an item from their collection a couple weeks ago.  Although at first look their jewelry looked a little shiny and sparkly for my taste, I found a ring I really liked -an Art Deco inspired crown ring in white Rhodium with an antique finish (size 6).  The ring looks adorable in person, and I bet it will look even better as it ages and achieves an even more antique look over time.  It came in a cute little gift box, ready for one lucky reader to win.

To enter the giveaway leave us a comment with your name - you have until this Sunday to enter!   Good Luck!!

A closer look: Michael Thomas 1956

Although DC-native Michael Warren might have left us for the greener and warmer pastures of LA, he at least didn't leave us empty handed..... or empty necked.  His accessories line bearing the name "Michael Thomas 1956" might just be one of the most creative menswear collections of its kind to arrive in our city.  I love his mix of colors, patterns and textures - the unexpected pink under a striped tie, the unlikely proportions of a polka-dotted bow tie, the floral prints, the pastel stripes - all characteristics that could easily complete an otherwise standard outfit.  Michael, just as charming and stylish as his collection, tells us this is just the beginning, hinting that cufflinks and tie-clips may be to come.

His trunk show will be on display at Treasury until the end of this weekend, but you might want to hurry, they were very popular while I was there.

We photographed some of our favorites:

Charlotte Ronson for JCPenney (yeah I know!!)

The Target designer collaborations have uniformity monopolized the "designer + retail store + affordability" press since they began a few years ago.  However, my favorite of those collaborations right now is not the less-than-impressive Target line with Gautier but the Charlotte Ronson "I Heart Ronson" line for JCPenney.  I hadn't set foot in a JCPenney in... actually ever until last Spring for the Ronson collaboration which included gorgeous floor length dresses, linen rompers and skinny jeans.  Her collection for Spring 2010 sent me to the suburbs once more and her items did not disappoint.  Some of my favorites were the convertible trench coat made of a light knit material and great slim fit, I also liked the belted floral mini skirt and the variety of "boyfriend" shirts.  All items are already on sale with very reasonable prices ranging from $19.99 to $59.99 for the trench.

Here are some of my favorite looks:

Balenciaga Fall 2010

Nicolas Ghesquière's put on an amazingly whimsical and futuristic show for Balenciaga Fall 2010
He mixed unexpected texture with aqua colors, he added plastic encasings to leather loafers, he mixed matte cashmere with shiny plastic - so many intricate details but together they all worked in high fidelity with the Balenciaga aesthetic.  I am definitely a big fan,  here are some of my favorite shots.
