Summer Shells

Felix Rey and I experienced love at first sight a couple years ago when I saw their baby blue sequin bag with a pink sequin heart creation. It's still one of my favorite bags and I continue to love their quirky designs - so it's very exciting that Lily Band and Sulaika Zarrouk are doing a bag collection with Target. In stores today!! These are my favorites:

Nostalgia

I want to go to Istanbul. I want to photograph Hagia Sophia and the Walls of Constantinople. I want to have breakfast on the terrace of Topkalı Palace. I want to take a nap on the breezy yellow bed at the Ayazpasa House.... and maybe the owners would let me stay there... it's exactly my kind of place.

Mosaic

I've been collecting heavy bright-colored floor-length skirts over the winter, I don't really remember why I had such urge, maybe they reminded me of "The Little House on the Prairie" meets Hermes Fall 09 "Indian Winter" ads. I loved those ads, the colors were vibrant yet warm, and the snowy Alps were a perfect backdrop. Floor-length skirts, however, are not very practical in the Winter, specially because I wanted to wear them with a tank top - so these early spring temperatures are perfect for them, and finally after a long sad stay in my closet, the perfect cold rainy day arrived.....

Night and Day

I really loved the pajama/lingerie runway looks for Spring 09, but I was never really sure how I would wear them. Elle magazine has a great spread in the March 09 issue with Adriana Lima cleverly wearing exactly those looks. I really like the pairing of socks and oxfords with lingerie, it's what I needed to make the looks more day-friendly.

MCQ and GO

Yesterday, I woke up at 7:50 AM. To go to Target.
Most people might find this event a little disturbing but not if they knew the wondrous items that awaited me there-the Alexander McQueen McQ collection. I bought the one-shoulder grey dress which fit like a glove and had lovely draping, and the bikini, which reminded me of a superhero costume and also fit great. I also liked the slouchy black pants and the printed t-shirts, but wasn't a big fan of the shift dresses or the hot pink/black combo of some of the items. I didn't see the leather vest, but I'll probably go back at some point to try it on. I also bought two dresses from the Go International collection, I couldn't pass up the flowy skirts and super bright colors.

Here are the goods:

MCQ One Shoulder Printed Dress $70

Go International® One Shoulder Shattered Glass Print Dress $40

Go International® Bustier Drop Dress - Watermelon $45
