Lemon Flowers

My lemon tree is blooming again - it's magical.
The flowers saturate the warm air with an incredibly sweet aroma, the citrus scent permeates and monopolizes the space, it transforms it from upstairs loft to exotic Mediterranean forest. The flowers are delicately beautiful and immaculately white. I spend a lot of time sitting on the floor cooing sweetly to it and gently shaking the flowers to coerce the pollen to fall down the style and pollinate the ovule. Yes, I am a little obsessed with my plant and accordingly I decided it would be a great idea to put together Spring outfits inspired by its beautiful colors.

So many little buds, I'm excitedly waiting for them to bloom

McQueen for All

Oh Target - I thought my Alexander McQueen scarf was going to live alone in my closet - specially since I can't convince myself that buying a pair of $900 skeleton crystal leggings is a rational purchase. Lucky for me, and you, this March Alexander McQueen's MCQ collection for Target will be in stores, and the looks which showed up online a couple days ago are even more awesome than the initial previews.

These are my favorites:

Tight-Laced Corsetry

Clockwise from top left- Lace mini F21, Bebe bandage dress, Hervé Léger color-block dress, Lace Tube Dress F21, Corset dress F21, Hervé Léger white bandage dress.

I have had an uncharacteristic love affair with body-con dresses lately, they seem so empowering and easy to wear - easy because accessories and embellishments are not necessary with them. I found a couple of extremely well priced lace dresses (middle) and a deep blue corseted one (bottom left) that also looks promising - but I always keep going back to Herve Leger - It's unfortunate that Herve Leroux no longer designs for Hervé Léger, he hasn't for over a decade and if you've ever seen a dress from one of his 1990's collections you will notice a drastic difference in quality from the Hervé Léger dresses of today designed by Max Azria. Nevertheless, I still like some of the recent designs of the fashion house - I like that they mantain the same sensuality and simplicity. One of my favorite ones is the white reptilian dress on the bottom left, it reminds me of a super hero, one that just stands there and looks pretty and doesn't have to run :)

Sunday Treats

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope you had a wonderful and love-filled holiday. Mine was full of delicious food, so I thought it would be fitting to start the new year with a food post :)

Brunch at Cashion's Eat Place is one of my favorite weekend activities - the seasonal menu always has some magical surprises every time I visit - some of my all-time favorites are the Yoghurt with Bosc Pears, housemade Granola, and Wildflower Honey, and my friends love the Cornmeal Waffles with Pecan Butter, Maple Syrup, and Bartlett Pear Sauce.

During this visit I had:

Omelet with Breakfast Potatoes, Gruyere, Spinach, Mushrooms, and a Tomato-Basil Coulis

Bison Burger over Slice Tomatoes topped with a Poached egg and Bearnaise Sauce.
