Behind the glass doors.

Sometimes being backstage in a fashion event is more exciting than sitting on the front row - the ReadysetDC show was no exception for me.  I worked with a wonderful group of girls who were entertaining, sweet, funny - not to mention beautiful - Cathy, Katerina, Kristen and I had a fun time getting all of them ready - despite having to constantly expel intruders and strangers from our dressing room who wanted to try on their clothes!
The lovely make-up is the work of Nataly, who will be collaborating with us on the blog to bring you make-up tips, Spring looks, runway inspirations and much more.  For her first post she will share with us her inspiration for the make-up she did for the show.  We're very excited and hope to get some much needed make-up inspiration.

Here are some of our favorite behind-the-scene pictures.

ReadysetDC Fashion District - Atmosphere, views and more shows.

The night of ReadysetDC's fashion:district event couldn't have had a prettier sunset.  All of us who were on the roof preparing for the show early were lucky to see the city's skyline transform from a brightly sunlit scene to orange glowing skies, and finally in to the brightly speckled panorama brought on by the night.  Here are some more pictures of the atmosphere before and during the event, as well as runway shots from Redeem (another favorite one of ours), Commonwealth, Universal Gear and DURKL. ReadysetDC - The Treasury Runway

The ReadysetDC runway show was perched on the rooftop of the aptly named View 14 building, granting all attendees incredible views of the city stretching as far as the Potomac River.  Judging by the lines stretching around the corner of the building - this was a very popular event - I spent most of my time in the dressing room, but trust me when I say it was loads of fun in there too.

We had such a wonderful time helping style the Treasury runway show for the ReadysetDC fashion district event.  We were so lucky to work with some gorgeous, exotic and extremely sweet models who made putting together outfits just 2 days before the show much easier than I ever expected.  We also want to thank Nataly Hall, our make-up artist who did an amazing job on the girls (and guy) and helped us create a cohesive look with her beautiful bright colors.  We took many many  pictures (1600 to be exact) and it's been hard picking just a few to show you - so we've split them up in sections: behind-the-scenes, make-up, Treasury and runway - over the next several days I will pick a few of my favorites from those sets and share them with you here.

Our first set is of course the Treasury runway show -

Thanks to the models: Mery M, Danielle, Kate, Mery K, Massod, Megan & Agnes and to the lovely ladies from Treasury for including us in this wonderful event.

Fashion:District - The Show this Wednesday

We are happy to be part of ReadysetDC's Fashion:District  - The Show.  Taking place this Wednesday April 7th at View 14.  The event will feature fashion photography exhibits, art installations, pop-up shops by some of our favorite local boutiques and a full-length rooftop runway fashion show for which we are helping style some of the looks.  The runway show is sold-out, but you can still get tickets to the main event HERE.  We can't wait for Wednesday, hope to see you there!
